Swadesh movement is a movement led by Dadabhai naoroji in the 20th century after the partition of Bengal.

The word 'swadeshi' means which is made in desi means made in our own country.The moto of Swadesh movement is to become 'self reliance','self dependent'.

Problems with swadeshi movement:

• It was failed to unite all religion group due to establishment of Muslim league.
• Many leaders like Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar not supported the Swadeshi movement he even wore formal dresses instead of khadi made clothes.
• more than half of our country's population was poor so they were incapable to buy khadi clothes which were expensive than British made goods.
• grievances ( complain) of the small farmers and peasants were not taken into consideration.Due to this reason peasants did not take part in the Swadeshi movement.
