The washing away of soil by air, water, living organisms etc is known as soil erosion

Generally there is a balance btw the soil forming process and the erosional process . The balance can be distributed natural or human factors.

the types of soil erosion are

1)water erosion : water is a powerful agent of soil erosion

a)sheet erosion : when the top layer of the soil is removed over a large area by the running water is called sheet erosion

b)Rill erosion : if erosion continuous unchecked for a sufficient time a small finger shaped grooves ,they develop on landscales

C)gully erosion : the running water gets through the clayey soil and make deep channels as gullies .

2)wind erosion : wind is a powerful agent of erosion in arid and semi-arid region . Because it is very dangerous because due to wind most deserts of world are expanding
