The Civil Disobedience Movement was one of the mass movement launched by the Indian National Congress against British imperialism. By 1929, India began to doubt whether Britain would implement its declaration of granting colonial self-government. The Indian National Congress announced at the Lahore Session (1929 AD) that its goal was to achieve complete independence for India. Mahatma Gandhi waged a civil disobedience movement on 6 April 1930, to emphasize this demand. The purpose of which was to lynch the British government by doing some specific type of illegal work collectively. See also: Motivation of Non-Cooperation Movement - Mahatma Gandhi.
