10. When working alone, A, B, and C can complete a
work in 8 days, 9 days, and 6 days, respectively.
A and C start the work, continue for 2 days and then
B also joins them. How many additional days will be

Answer:

Use A=8 Instead of 18

A complete the work in 18 days,

A (work per day) = W/18,

Similarly,

B (work per day) = W/9,

C (work per day) = W/6,

According to the given problem,

Work done after 2 days,

W(2days) = (A + B)*2 = (W/18 + W/9)*2 = W/3

After this C join them,

W(2days) + (A +B + C)*x days = W

W/3 + (W/18 + W/9 + W/6)*x days = W

W/3 + (6W/18)*x days = W

1/3 + (1/3)*x days = 1

x = 2 days,

So total (x + 2) days = 4 days required
