10. Write the smallest digit in the blank space of each of the following numbers so that the
number formed is divisible by 3 (a) 3,2 386 (b) 5, 945​

a) 3_2386

Sol. Divisibility rule of 3- the sum the digits should be divisible by 3.

3+2+3+8+6= 22, so 3x8= 24.

3+2+ 2 +3+8+6= 24

Therefore the number is 322386.

b) 5_945

Sol. Using the same as above.

5+9+4+5= 23, so 3x8= 24

5+1+ 9+4+5 = 24

Therefore the number is 51945.

 Extra info- sometimes, it happens that the number are divisible i.e 12_45, we get 1+2+4+5= 12 which is already divisible by 3, so in the blank we can fill a zero.
