or 10x+10+x(11x+1)=252

or 10x+10+11x²+x=252

or 11x²+11x–242=0

» x²+x–22=0

Using the quadratic formula, i.e.,

x =  \frac{ - b± \sqrt{b {}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}

Therefore,

x =  \frac{ - 1± \sqrt{(1) {}^{2} - 4(1)( - 22) } }{2(1)}

x =  \frac{ - 1± \sqrt{89} }{2}

And Thus, the values of x are:

∴ \: x =  \frac{ - 1 +  \sqrt{89} }{2}  \: or \:  \frac{ - 1 -  \sqrt{89} }{2}
