Given: 10\  years \ 10\  months + 5\  years \ 5\  months

We have to add the above equation.

  • As we know that adding two or more numbers together is known as an addition.
  • Addition as denoted by(+).

Following are the properties of addition:

1. Identity property of zero.

2. Inverse property.

3. Commutative property.

4. Associative property.

We are solving in the following way:

We have,

10\  years \ 10\  months + 5\  years \ 5\  months

As we know that one year is equal to a 12month.

So,

We can write the above equation as:

\Rightarrow 10yrs.+\frac{10}{12}yrs. +5yrs.+\frac{5}{12} yrs.\\\\\Rightarrow \frac{65}{6} +\frac{65}{12}

Solving the above equation further we get,

\Rightarrow \frac{65}{4} \\\\\Rightarrow 16.25

Hence, 10\  years \ 10\  months + 5\  years \ 5\  months is equal to16yrs. or 16yrs.2month.
