Given :

  • 10 years ago father's age was 3 times the son's age.
  • After 5 years age of father becomes 2 times the age of son.

To find :

  • Their present ages =?

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, the present age of son's be, x.

Then, the present age of father's be, 3x + 10.

After 5 years son's age = x + 15 years

After 5 years Father’s age = 3x + 15 years

According to the question,

3x + 15 = 2(x + 15)

3x + 15 = 2x + 30

3x - 2x = 30 - 15

x = 15

Therefore, We got the value of, x = 15.

Hence,

The present age of son's, x = 15 years

Then, the present age of father's, 3x = 3 × 15 + 10 = 55 years .
