Let A's age 10 years ago = x years.

Then, B's age 10 years ago = 2x years.

(x + 10) / (2x+ lO) = 3/4

=> x = 5.

So, the total of their present ages =(x + 10 + 2x + 10)

= (3x + 20) = 35 years.

Let the present age of A be 3x and that of B be 4x

10 years ago

A's age would have been 3x-10

B's age would have been 4x -10

now accoding to question A's age was half of B 's age

so,

2(3x-10)=4x-10

6x-20=4x-10

2x=10

x=5

so present age of A = 3x = 15

present age of B = 4x = 20

sum of there present age = 20+15=35

just simple buddy !!!
