SUB :- Road Encroachment by Vendors

Madam,

As a resident of Palam Vihar, I want to report a case of road encroachment by street vendors near our locality.

For the past two months, there had been a surge in the number of street vendors selling on the main road. Twelve vendors have settled on footpaths, which is against traffic rules. A couple of junk food sellers have set up their stalls in parking spaces, forcing drivers and bikers to park their vehicles on the road. Moreover, there have been two accidents last week, because of the vendors. A car smashed a vendor's stall, which was set on the side of the road. In the second accident, a biker skidded over vegetable peels of a nearby fruit seller, and the former suffered severe injuries. It is high time that the traffic guard took serious steps regarding the same.

I request you to look into the matter and resolve it as soon as possible.

Thank you.

With regards,

Nishita Garg

Subject: The Problem of Traffic Jams  Owing to Encroachments

Sir:

I wish to bring to your highness’s notice the problem of traffic jams in the city. The problem is so serious that every day almost all the roads become impassable owing to the long traffic jams. Owing to the lack of strict action, the problem persists.

There main causes of these jams are narrow roads, excess amount of vehicles, street vendors, absence of traffic police at all the crucial traffic monitoring points, etc.  These jams are causing a huge loss to the national resources. Not only time is wasted, fuel worth millions of rupees also gets wasted.

I think making some of the roads one way along with the deployment of traffic cops will ease up the situation a little bit until proper infrastructure is constructed. A heavy fine should be levied against the defaulters. I on behalf of the citizens of Delhi appeal to you to look into the matter and relieve the citizens of the menace of jams caused by the above mentioned causes.

Thanking you,

Yours truly,

Nitesh Garg
