The mass of calcium carbonate = 100 g

The mass of carbon dioxide = 44 g

The balanced chemical reaction is,

Law of conservation of mass : In a chemical reaction, the mass of products must be equal to the mass of reactants.

According to the law of conservation of mass, 100 gram of calcium carbonate will produces 100 gram of products.

The mass of calcium carbonate = 100 gram

The mass of carbon dioxide = 44 gram

Let, The mass of Quicklime = X gram

Mass of calcium carbonate = Mass of carbon dioxide + Mass of Quicklime

100 gram = 44 gram + X gram

X = 100 - 44 = 56 gram
