13. A rectangular room is 10 m long and 7.5 m wide. Find the cost of covering the
floor with carpet 1.25 m wide at 250 per metre.​

Given :

  • Length of the room is 10m
  • Width of the room is 7.5m
  • Cost per metre is 250
  • Covering the floor carpet is 1.5 m which means Width

To find:

  • The cost of covering the floor with carpet

Solution :

Given,

  • Length of the room is 10m
  • Width of the room is 7.5m

As we know that,

  • Area of floor = length × breadth

● 10 × 7.5

● 1.25

Area of floor is 1.25m

According to Question Given,

  • Width of carpet is 1.25m

Now ,

we have to find the length of carpet,

  • Area of floor = Area of carpet

● 10 × 7.5 = 1.25 × length of carpet

● Length of carpet = 10 × 7.5/1.25 = 60m

Length of carpet is 60m

Now According To Question Given that,

  • cost per metre is 250rs

Then ,

  • Total cost = length of carpet × cost per metre

● 60 × 250

● 15000

Hence , The cost of covering with carpet is 15000
