Hey!!
Discovered by Joseph Aspdin
" CEMENT"
Cement is used with fine aggregate to produce mortar for masonry, or with sand and gravel aggregates to produce concrete.

Cements used in construction are usually inorganic, often lime or calcium silicate based, and can be characterized as being either hydraulic or non-hydraulic, depending upon the ability of the cement to set in the presence of water (see hydraulic and non-hydraulic lime plaster).

They are used in making buildings also

hope it helps u

good luck

Heya....✋

✨Cement⤵

(i)Discovered by Joseph Aspdin in England

(ii)It was called Portland Cement because it resembled the limestone found in Portland

(iii)Composition of cement CaOFe2O3SiO2Al2O3

✨Manufacture of cement⤵

(i)Limestone and clay are finely powered and mixed together in the ratio of 3:1.

(ii)Mixture is again grinded to a fine powder.

(iii)This powder is then heated to 1773K in a rotatory Kiln to produce clinker(Chemical action takes place between lime, alumina, ferric oxide, and silica).

(iv)The clinker is cooled and mixed with 2.5% gypsum to delay the setting time of cement.

(v)This mixture is then powered to get a fine and homogenous powder.

(vi)The cement is then stored in silos before being delivered.

✨Uses of cement⤵

(i)As Mortar, when mixed with sand, for plastering and binding bricks.

(ii)As concrete when mixed with sand and crushed for construction of buildings, roads, dams, bridges, etc.

(iii)As Reinforced Concrete Cement(RCC): When steel rods, bars and other hard material are embedded in the wet concrete. As the concrete sets, it sticks to those materials to form RCC.

Hope it helps✅
