¤ High temperature occurring during grain filling are known to affect wheat , grain yield and quality considerably.



⊙ The plants cultivated in pots were subjected to 13 heat treatment differing in duration and timing.



⊙ Heat treatment were applied by temporary transfer of the pots to a glasshouse where the temperature rise to 40℃ as a consequence of solar radiation for 30 days.



⊙ The applied heat shocks consequently affects dry matter and protein accumulation in the different parts of the plant.

1. The changes accumulated over a period of time in an organism usually gives rise to a new species. This is termed as Variation.
2. The Variations produced in organisms during successive generation get accumulated in the organism.
3.If the variations are useful in survival and reproduction they pass on to next generation resulting in more population.
4.The offspring produced during reproduction inherit traits from parents , also they develop new variations.
5. This whole process explains the accumulation of variations.
