Solution :-

Let us assume that , total number of new villagers involved is x .

So,

→ M1 = 100 villagers

→ H1 = 6 hours

→ W1 = (2/3)rd of a broken bank .

now,

→ M2 = (100 + x) villagers

→ H2 = 2 hours

→ W2 = (1/3)rd of a broken bank .

then,

→ (M1 * H1)/W1 = (M2 * H2)/W2

→ M1 * H1 * W2 = M2 * H2 * W1

→ 100 * 6 * (1/3) = (100 + x) * 2 * (2/3)

→ 600 = 4(100 + x)

→ 150 = 100 + x

→ x = 150 - 100

→ x = 50 villagers (Ans.)

Therefore, the number of new villagers involved is 50 .

Answer:

The number of new villagers involved is 50

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

100 villagers repair  of \frac{2}{3}rd of a broken bank of river in 6 hours

To find : Number of villagers that should join the work to complete the \frac{1}{3}rdof broken bank in 2 hours

Here

V_{1}=100  V_{2} =x\\\\W_{1}=\frac{2}{3}    \\\\W_{2} =\frac{1}{3}    \\ \\T_{1} =6hrs \\\\T_{2}  =2hrs\\\\

Now as we know,

\frac{V_{1}*T_{1}  }{W_{1} } =\frac{V_{2}*T_{2}  }{W_{2} }

\frac{100*6 }{\frac{2}{3}  } =\frac{x*2 }{\frac{1}{3} }

x*2*3=\frac{100*6*3}{2} \\\\x=\frac{300}{2} \\\\x=150

Number of villagers should join to complete the work in 2 hours=150-100

                                                                                                           =50

number of new villagers involved is                                                                                        =50
