Answer:

An tsunami is a natural disaster which is a series of fast-moving waves in the ocean caused by powerful earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, or simply an asteroid or a meteor crash inside the ocean. A tsunami has a very long wavelength. It can be hundreds of kilometers long. Usually, a tsunami starts suddenly.

Tsunami is a Japanese word, which means tasu means port and nami means wave.

This word is used as singular and plural. The tsunami is caused by an earthquake caused by a vertical slide in place of a fault of a plate of the crust.

This is why tsunamis are also called seismic waves.

Keep in mind that all seismic waves are tsunamis, but not all tsunamis are caused by earthquakes.

The main reasons for the origin of tsunami waves are as follows below:-

  • Tsunamis occur due to high-speed earthquakes with high depth foxes in the oceans.
  • A tsunami can occur due to convergent or divergent motion of the crust plates.
  • Tsunamis are also caused by the rise of volcanoes in the seas and the ocean.
  • A tsunami can also occur due to landslides on the continental shelf and continental slope of the oceans.

Due to erosion found at the bottom of the oceans, the slipping of crust plates causes tsunamis to come into the Alushian Islands.

The oscillating process of earthquake plates is shown.

Earth's gravitational force pulls a plate downwards, resulting in seismic waves that propagate around the ocean,Hence this cause the tsunami.
