Weight of the resulting solution is 96.825 g
Given-
- Initial Weight of the solution is = 100 g
- Current deposit = 0.1 F
According to the first law of Faraday
W =ZQ
where W is the weight of the substance and Z is the electro chemical equivalent.
We know that Q = i×t where i is the current and t is the time.
1 Faraday current deposits = 63.5/2 = 31.75 g of copper
0.1 Faraday current deposits = 31.75 × 0.1 = 3.175 g of copper
Initial weight of solution = 100 g
After electrolysis weight of solution = 100 - 3.175 = 96.825 g
