THE MOLES OF OF SILVER CHLORIDE (AgCl) formed is 0.02

When 100 ml 0.2 M NaCl is mixed with 50 ml 0.5 M AgnO3  following reaction take place

  • AgNo3 + NaCl -----------> NaNo3 + AgCl
  • here we can see that 1  mole of Agno3 reacts with 1 mole of NaCl to form 1 mole of NaNo3 and 1 mole of AgCl
  • Moles of NaCl= M_{1}V_{1}=0.2 × 100/1000= 0.02 mole
  • Moles of AgNo3= M_{2} V_{2} = 0.5 × 50/1000 = 0.025 mole
  • here we can see that mole of nacl is less than mole of agno3.
  • Hence NaCl is LIMITING
  • MOLES OF AgCl formed= 0.02
