Answer:

The molarity and molality of resulting solution is 2M and 2.22m respectively.

Explanation:

We have given, the volume of ethyl alcohol(solute) = 100ml

Density of ethyl alcohol = 0.92g/ml

Mass = Density ×Volume

Mass of ethyl alcohol = 100×0.92 =92g

The volume of water = 900ml

Density of water= 1 g/ml

Mass of water (solvent) = 900g

Molecular mass of ethyl alcohol = 46g/mol

Number of moles of ethyl alcohol = 92/46 = 2 moles

Molarity of the solution = =\frac{2moles}{1L} = 2M

Molality = Number of moles of solute/ mass of solvent

Molality of solution =\frac{2mol}{0.9Kg} =2.22m
