Reproduction in Deuteromycetes (imperfect fungi) takes place by exogenously developed conidia like asexual spores. Sexual or perfect stage is not known in these. Once perfect (sexual) stages of members of Deuteromycetes were discovered they were often moved to Ascomycetes and Basidiomycetes.
