10g of a mixture of sodium chloride and anhydrous sodium sulphate is dissolved in water . An excess of barium chloride solution is added and 6.99g of barium sulphate is precipitated. Calculate percentage of sodium sulphate in original mixture

Na2SO4+BaCl2 gives BaSO4+2NaCl

molar mass of Na2SO4=142gm

molar mass of BaCl2=233gm

amount of BaSO4=6.99 gm that is given in the question

mass of sodium sulphate =142/233 *6.99 =4.26gm

so that 10gm of mixture contain 4.26gm of sodium sulphate

so 4.26/10 *100 for percentage so it become 42.6%
