What is an electromegnet? What material are used to make electromagnet? Can we use steel to make electromagnet?

An simple electromagnet is made using a coil of wire wrapped around an iron core.

yes we can use steel to make an electromagnet . Putting a piece of iron or steel inside the coil makes the magnet strong enough to attract objects.

When electricity is passed through a soft iron etc. Then the peice of metal becomes temporarily magnetised.

Soft iron and other soft metals are the best for making Electromagnets.

Hard metals like steel shold not be used to make Electromagnets because they turninto permanent magnets when electricity passes through them.
