11. A 8 m 40 cm high vertical pole casts a
shadow 5 m 60 cm. Find at the same
time the length of the shadow cast by
another pole 6 m high.​

Answer :

4 metres

Explanation :

Length of the pole - 8m 40cm or, 840cm.

Shadow casted of - 5m 60cm or, 560cm.

Find the length of shadow will be casted by a 6m high pole.

Let tha length of the shadow be x metres which would be casted by the 600cm high pole.

Doing a proportional analysis :

→ 840 : 560 : : 600 : x

Solving for x :

→ 840 : 560 : : 600 : x

→ 840/560 : : 600/x

→ 84/56 = 600/x

→ 3/2 = 600/x

→ x = 600*2/3

→ x = 1200/3

→ x = 400

The shadow will form of length 400cm or 4m.
