11. A block of iron has dimensions 2 m x 0.5 m x 0.25 m. The density of iron is 7-8 g cm. Find the mass of block.

Given , I = 2m

b = 0.5m

h= 0.25m

Density of iron = 7.8gcm

= 7.8×1000kgm

= 7800kgm

−3

Volume of block = l×b×h

= 2×0.5×0.25 = 0.25m

∴ Mass of iron block M=V×d

= 0.25×7800kgm

3

= 1950kg
