Given :- boutique owner purchased 176/5 m of fabric to make dresses. Each dress require 3/8 m of fabric.

(a) How many dresses can be made?

(b) How much fabric will remain? (3 marks)

Answer :-

→ Total length of fabric = 176/5 m

and,

→ Each dress require = 3/8 m of fabric .

so,

→ Total dress can be made = Total length of fabric / Each dress require fabric = (176/5) ÷ (3/8) = (176/5) * (8/3) = (1408/15) = 93(13/15) = 93 dress .

then,

→ Fabric left after 93 dress = (13/15) m .
