  1. Magnetic field.
  2. Area of loop.
  3. Angle between the area vector of loop and the magnetic field vector.

(b) It comes in the magnetic north-south direction.

Reason:-

The solenoid acts as a bar magnet and shows properties as that of

the bar magnet.

And we know that the bar magnet points in the north-south

direction when it is freely suspended.

This is the reason why a freely suspended magnet points in the

north-south direction.
