11. A train passes a 240-m-long platform in 18 seconds and a man standing on it in 10
seconds. Find the (1) speed and (11) length of the train.​

Train passes a man standing on the platform in 10 secs.

So distance covered by the train in 10 secs = length of the train = 10×7.5 m = 75 m

The train passes the station platform in 18 secs.

So distance covered by the train in 18 secs = length of the train+ length of the platform = 18×7.5 m = 135 m

Length of the platform = 135 - 75 m= 60m
