को न पाने से महमूद को आश्चर्य हो रहा था। थोड़ी देर में उसकी दृष्टि उल्लुओं के एक जोड़े पर पड़ी।
वे एक खण्डर पर बैठे हुए थे और बातचीत करते हुए मालूम पड़ते थे। महमूद ने अपने मन्त्री को देखा
और कहा, क्या तुमने एक वर्ष पहले मुझसे नहीं कहा था कि तुम चिड़ियों की बोली समझते हो? ये
उल्लू क्या बातचीत कर रहे हैं? मंत्री ने उत्तर दिया-इन उल्लुओं में से एक बूढ़ा और दूसरा जवान है।
जवान उल्लू बूढ़े उल्लू के लड़के से अपनी लड़की का विवाह करना चाहता है अगदहेज में सौ उजड़े
