Mr Gilman was the principal Of the cambridge school. At first, he was very considerate. Then he began to create problems for Helen, perhaps not knowing.He thought that helen was overworked and stressed. He wanted  her to prolong her stay in the school while helen wanted to enter college with her class in the normal time.Perhaps he became overzealous and forced Helen to withdraw herself from his school.

Mr. Arthur Gilman was the principal of Cambridge school for the Young ladies. He was a kind and warm-hearted person. He permitted Hellen's sister Mildred to study at Cambridge. He knew that it would boost Helen's morale and she would find it very useful. He acted as an interpreter of Helen during the examinations. He read out what Helen had written for improvement, despite being very busy. As a teacher Mr. Gilman was very intelligent and efficient. He made his teaching very interesting and effective. His lessons made learning quite easier and understandable. He advised Helen to take things easy as she felt greatly stressed. Helen had a great respect for Mr. Gilman.
