1. Living Things - >

(a) They possess life.

(b) Living things are capable of giving birth to their young one.

(c) For survival, living things depend on water, air and food.

(d) Living things are sensitive and responsive to stimuli.

Eg: Human beings, plants, etc.

Non-Living Things

(a) They do not possess life.

(b) Non-living things do not reproduce.

(c) Non-living things have no such requirements.

(d) Non-living things are not sensitive and do not respond to stimuli.

Eg: Table, Chair etc.

2. Examples:  Dandelion flower,  Moonflower

3. Humans and other animals need to breathe for respiration to take place. This happens when animals move air into and out of their lungs, or by flapping their gills if living in water. When animals breathe in, they take in oxygen and when they breathe out, carbon dioxide is removed from the body.

Examples: Fishes breathe through their gills whereas monkeys breathe through lungs.
