The author found a roll top desk in the junk shop in Bridport. The roll top desk was of early 19th century, and it was made up of oak. The roll top desk was in a bad condition, the roll top in several pieces ,one leg clumsily mended ,scorch mark all down one side. Both fire and water had clearly taken their toll on this desk.
