Area of trapezium =36cm²

height=4cm

ratio of parallel sides =1:2

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × Sum of parallel sides × Distance between them

let the parallel sides be x and 2x.

so,area=>1/2×(x+2x)×4=36cm²

=>1/2×3x×4=36cm²

=>2×3x=36cm²

=>3x=36/2=18

=>x=18÷3

=>6

so,x=6cm and 2x=2×6=12cm.

Hence,lengths of parallel sides are 6cm and 12cm.
