11. Assertion: 1-Chlorobutane and
2-chlorobutane are position isomers.
Reason: 1-Chlorobutane and 2-chlorobutane
have different arrangement of C-atoms in
chains in their molecules.​

The assertion is true and the reason is false because of following reasons:---

1】The assertion is true as 1chlorobutane and 2 chlorobutane are position isomer as they differ in position of functional group that is chlorine .

●In 1 chlorobutane position of chlorine is on first carbon whereas in 2 chlorobutane the position of chlorine is on 2 carbon hence as position of chlorine which is functional group is different in both compounds so they are position isomer as their formula is same .

2】Reason is false as position isomers are those which have same molecular formula but difference in position of functional group .and have same carbon chain .

●The isomers which diffe in arrangement of carbon atoms with same molecular formula are known as chain isomers.
