sin theta= opposite side/ hypotenuse

cos theta = adjacent side/ hypotenuse

a = opp. side, b= hypotenuse

so, adj. side= \sqrt({b^{2} }-a^{2})

hence, cos theta= \frac{\sqrt({b^{2} }-a^{2})}{b}
