Given:

  • The total number of fish in the tank = 5 + 8 = 13
  • Total number of male fish = 5

To Find:

The probability that the fish taken  out is a male fish.

Solution:

According to the question,

Given, The total number of fish in the tank = 5 + 8 = 13

Total number of male fish = 5

\implies P(E)=\frac{Number \: of \: favourable \: outcome }{Total \: number \: of \: outcomes}

Therefore,

P (male fish) :\implies \frac{5}{3} = \boxed{\underline{\underline{0.38}}}

Hence, the probability that the fish taken  out is a male fish is 0.38.

: Required Answer

Given

TOTAL NO OF FISH = 13

MALE FISH IS = 5

Find

probability that the fish taken out is a male fish?

➝ Solution

➝ The total number of fish in the tank = 5+8 = 13

➢Total number of male fish = 5

➝ P(E) = (Number of favourable outcomes/ Total number of outcomes)

P (male fish) = 5/13 = 0.38
