Answer:

Quantity of nitrate = 75%

Quantity of Sulphur = 20 %

Quantity of Charcoal = ( 100 - (75 + 20) ) %

= 5 %

Amount of Charcoal = 5 % of 120 kg of gun powder

= 5% × 120 kg

= ( 5 /100 ) × 120 kg

= ( 600 / 100 ) kg

= 6 kg

Therefore,

Amount of Charcoal in 120kg gun powder = 6 kg

quantities of nitrate=75%of 120000

=90,000 kg.

quantities of sulphur =20%of 120000

=24,000 kg.

the quantities of charcoal in it=120,000-(90,000+24,000)

=120,000-66,000
