Given

a = -9

b = -6

To show

(a - b) = (b+a)

Solution

LHS  = a - b  \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   =  - 9 -  ( - 6)\\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  - 9 + 6 \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: =  - 3\\  \\ RHS = b + a \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   =  - 6 - 9 \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   =  - 15

LHS ≠ RHS

Hence, (a - b) ≠ (b+a).

It is not possible that, (a - b) = (b+a).
