The force on one of the plates is F21 = 60/7 N

Explanation:

E = E1 - E2 = 2

2 = q1 / 2Aεo - q2 / 2Aεo

2 = 10 / 2Aεo - 3 / 2Aεo

2 = 7 / 2Aεo = 3.5

2 / 3.5 = 1/Aεo

Now

F21 = ε1 x q2

F21 = q1 / 2Aεo x q2

F21 = 10 / 2 x 2/3.5 x 3

F21 = 30 x 10 / 35

F21 = 60/7 N

Hence the force on one of the plates is F21 = 60/7 N
