11. In a election 60% of voters cast their
votes. Form an equation and draw the
graph for this data. Find the following from
the graph.
(i) The total number of voters, if 1200 voters
cast their votes
(i) The number votes cast, if the total number
of voters are 800
[Hint: If the number of voters who cast their votes be x and the total number of voters
be 'y'then x = 60% of y.]​

Let the number of people who cast there vote to be X

Given 60% cast, their votes  

Therefore   60/100  X=Y

i.) given number of votes are 1200

Implies Y=1200

Therefore number of voters =X=  5/3  Y =  5/3  ×1200=2000

ii.) now given no of voters =800

i.e X=800

Therefore we know Y=  3/5 ×X

⇒Y=  3/5  ×800=480
