11. In an election being contested by two candidates, one candidate got 15% of
the valid votes while 20% of the votes were declared invalid. How many
votes did the other candidate get? Who won the election and by how much?
If the total number of votes polled were 8500, how many votes were invalid!​

invalid votes - 20/100 × 8500 = 1700 votes

valid votes % - 100 - 20( invalid) = 80%

valid votes 80/100 × 8500 = 6800 votes

1st candidate = 15/100 × 6800 = 1,020 votes

2nd candidate = 85/100 × 6800 = 5,780

* 2nd candidate won by majority of 4,760 votes.
