Given; MN || BC and AM/ MB= 1:2

To Find;  In fig. 1, MN || BC and AM /MB= 1:2, then

ar(ΔAMN)/ar(ΔABC)

Solution; we know that the ratio of sides in given then the ratio of areas of triangles can be found out by squaring the ratio of sides

AM/MB=1/2

ar(ΔAMN)/ar(ΔABC) =1/4

Hence the ratio of the area is 1/4
