Grandfather sold it back to tonga driver for only three rupees because grandfather was not in a condition to bargain.Toto was very naughty as he started disturbing everyone much more. Grandma was so angry with Toto that's why she told grandfather to go sell it back no matter at what cost.

He did so as he was in no condition to bargain with a monkey so naughty as Toto. 5 rupees is costlier and if he offered Toto for 5 rupees, the tonga driver would probably not agree. The reason he sold Toto was because he was not the kinda pet you could keep for long. He would destroy dishes, wallpapers clothes and curtains. As they were not a well to do family, they could not afford the frequent loss of such items
