Given :-

Vertices of triangle are (0 ,4) , (0, 0) , (3, 0)

To find :-

Perimeter of a triangle

Solution :-

Refer the attachment

As we know that perimeter of a triangle is nothing but Sum of its sides

Since,

Perimeter = AB+BC+AC

  • AB = Distance between A and B
  • BC = Distance between B and C
  • AC = Distance between A and C

We can find their distances by using distance formula

= \sqrt{(x_1-x_2)^2+(y_1-y_2)^2}

Distance between AB =

A = (0,4) B= (0, 0 )

AB = \sqrt{(0-0)^2+(4-0)^2}

AB =\sqrt{0+(4)^2}

AB =\sqrt{(4)^2}

AB = 4

Distance between BC =

B =( 0,0) C=( 3, 0)

BC = \sqrt{(0-3)^2+(0-0)^2}

BC = \sqrt{(-3)^2+0}

BC = \sqrt{9 }

BC = 3

Distance between AC =

A= (0,4) C= ( 3,0)

AC = \sqrt{(0-3)^2+(4-0)^2}

AC =\sqrt{(-3)^2+(4)^2}

AC=\sqrt{9+16}

AC=\sqrt{25}

AC = \sqrt{5^2}

AC =5

Perimeter = AB+BC +AC

Perimeter = 4+3+5

Perimeter= 12 units

So, the perimeter of a triangle is 12 units
