Verify whether the following are zeroes of the polynomial, indicated against them for
p(x) = (x + 1)(x - 2), x=-1,2

p(x)=(x+1)(x-2)

x=-1,2

on taking

x=-1

p(x)=(x+1)(x-2)

p(-1)=(-1+1)(-1-2)

p(-1)=(0)(3)

p(-1)=3

p=3+1

p=4

then,

on taking

x=2

now

p(x)=(x+1)(x-2)

p(2)=(2+2)(2-2)

p(2)=(4)(0)

p(2)=4

p=4-2

p=2

since

on taking x=(-1)we have p=4 and on taking x=2we get p=2respectively.
