SOLUTION

GIVEN

Ratio of the areas of two triangles with same height are 8:3

TO DETERMINE

The ratio of their base

EVALUATION

Let the bases of the two triangles are b and B respectively

Also suppose that the height of both triangle = h

So by the given condition

 \displaystyle \sf{  \bigg(\frac{1}{2} \times b \times h \bigg) :  \bigg(\frac{1}{2} \times B \times h \bigg) = 8 :3 }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies  b:   B  = 8 :3 }

FINAL ANSWER

The ratio of their base = 8 : 3
