benzene has high electron density due to the presence of three π electron pairs representing double bonds. though the electron charge Is very much delocalised due to resonance, still electrphille attack leading to electrophilic substitution is possible. however, benzene does not respond to nucleophillic substitution because nucleophiiie prefers to attack a centre if low electron density.
