Question:

The area of a rhombus is 220.5cm². If the altitude is 17.5cm, find the length of each side of rhombus.

Solution:

Given that :-

  • Area of rhombus is 220.5cm².
  • It's altitude/height is 17.5cm.

To find :-

  • The length of each side of rhombus.

Answer :-

We know the formula of the area of rhombus:-

»» Base × Altitude

Let 's' to be the base

=> 220.5cm² = s × 17.5cm

=> 220.5cm² = s × 17.5cm²

=> 220.5cm² / 17.5cm² = s

=> 220.5/17.5 = s

=> s = 12.6

Therefore, The length of each side of rhombus is 12.6cm

Check:

Area of rhombus = Base × Altitude

=> Base = 12.6cm

=> Altitude = 17.5cm

=> 12.6cm × 17.5cm

=> 220.5cm²
