2)  Let the number be x.

8(x-5/2)=3x

8(2x-5)=6x

16x-40=6x

16x-6x=40

x=40/10

x=4

The number is 4.

3)

Let the age of Afrid be 5x and that of Riyaz be 7y.

(5x+4)/(7x+4)=3/4

4(5x+4)=3(7x+4)

20x+16=21x+12

16-12=21x-20x

x=4

Therefore,

Age of Afrid= 5x=5*4=20

Age of Riyaz= 7*4= 28

anonlocalthito: l=b+8
anonlocalthito: (L+6)(b+6)=lb+162
anonlocalthito: (b+8+6)(b+6)=(b+8)b+162
anonlocalthito: b^2+20b+84-b^2-=162
anonlocalthito: +8b
anonlocalthito: 20b-8b=162-84
anonlocalthito: b=78/12 = 6.5 cm
