Step-by-step explanation:

Mean weight of 60 students= 40 kg

Mean weight of boys= 50kg

Mean weight of girls = 30 kg

Total weight of all the students is z

z/60= 40

z= 60 multiplies by 40

2400kgs

Now, let the number of boys be x.

Mean weight of boys is 50 kgs

Total weight of boys is 50x

Mean weight of girls is 30 kgs

Total weight of girls is 30(60-x)

2400= 50x + 30(60-x)

2400-1800= 20x

600/20= x

x= 30

The number of boys in the class is 30

The number of girls in the class is 60-30

which is 30.
