Answer:

Age of first person is 56 years

Age of second person is 60 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let age of first person be x yeares

Let age of second person be y years

A.T.Q.

x:y = 4:5

5x = 4y

x= 4y/5

6 years ago

Age of first person = x-6

Age of second person = y-6

A.T.Q.

x-6:y-6 = 7:9

9*(x-6) = 7*(y-6)

9x- 54 = 7y - 42

9x -7y = 54-42

9x-7y = 12

Put value of x which we get above

9*(4y/5) -7y = 12

36y/5 -7y = 12

(36y -35y)/5 = 12 (taking LCM)

y = 12*5

y = 60

so

x = 4y/5

x = (4*60)/5

x = 56

so present age of these persons as follow

Age of first person is 56 years

Age of second person is 60 years
